Our
Projects

The SWANA Young Professionals (YP) program is the gateway for the next generation of leaders in Colorado’s solid waste and resource management industry. If you are a professional under the age of 35—whether you are an engineer, an equipment operator, a policy advocate, or a student—this community is built for you.
Why Join the Colorado YP Community?

Our chapter is committed to bridging the gap between seasoned industry veterans and the fresh perspectives of early-career professionals. As a YP member, you get:

-
Targeted Networking: Exclusive mixers and "Meet the Expert" sessions at our Fall Conference and the Road-E-O.
-
Mentorship: Direct access to mentors who can help you navigate the complexities of Colorado’s environmental regulations and career paths.
-
Professional Development: Eligibility for YP-specific scholarships and discounted rates for SWANA certifications.
-
A National Platform: When you join locally, you are automatically connected to the SWANA National YP group, a network of thousands of peers across North America.
Get Involved

We don't just talk shop—we build community. Here is how you can get started:

Exclusive Events
From facility tours of state-of-the-art MRFs to casual "Happy Hours" at local Colorado breweries, our events are designed to be both educational and social.

Leadership Opportunities
The YP group is a pipeline to Chapter leadership. Many of our current Board members started as YPs. If you want to influence the direction of the industry in the Rockies, this is where it begins
